In 1989, Johnny Williams of Ontario thought he'd just drop his daughter off, run a few laps up the hills surrounding Mt. San Antonio College's track and go home.

But the father of champion sprinter Angela Williams soon found himself doing for community children what he did for his own daughter. He encouraged them to do their best and to keep their eyes and energies focused on positive paths, not just track-and-field aspirations.
