RIVERSIDE - A judge blocked Kaiser Permanente's bid to purchase Chino Valley Medical Center Thursday and allowed a Victorville- based health-care company to operate the Chino Hospital.

The judge's ruling means Victorville-based Prime Healthcare Systems Inc. will begin to finance the Chino Valley's operations and help its current owners emerge from bankruptcy, effective Thursday night, according to Prime officials.
