TEMPLE CITY - Local Jews are taking action to oppose ongoing ethnic violence in the Darfur region of Sudan, saying that instead of just mourning genocide, they are taking action to stop one.

At Temple Beth David in Temple City, a delegation of six students met with representatives of Washington, D.C., legislators in early April. And the synagogue's leader, Rabbi Alan Lachtman, attended the April 30 Rally to Stop Genocide in the nation's capital.
