ROSEMEAD - When the Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday unveiled its list of U.S. consumers' most frequent complaints, it was no surprise what topped the list.

The FTC received 635,173 consumer fraud complaints in 2004. They ranged from frustration with Internet auctions - 16 percent of complaints - to telephone services and work-at-home plans, which garnered 2 percent of the total.
