Ralph Andrews, Columnist and Musician, Dies at Age 75

RIVERSIDE - In the final years of his life, Ralph Andrews battled Parkinson's disease and cancer but his ailments didn't stop him from playing his beloved flute and reviewing plays until weeks before his death.

"He was dedicated because he felt until the end that it was art, the beautiful things, that make us civilized, not things like race car driving," said his wife, Frances Scoggin of Riverside.
