Los Angeles County Assessor Rick Auerbach said Monday that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan to cut an obscure $60 million statewide tax administration program will delay property tax bills and create problems in appealing property assessments.
Without the funds, Auerbach said, he foresees a return to a situation in the early 1990s when layoffs due to budget cuts resulted in huge backlogs in reassessments of newly purchased homes and businesses, and delayed collections of property taxes.See the full content of this document
