QUESTION: Pomona is hurting for income. As a result of the drop in revenue, Pomona has made profound cuts to its general fund in order to have a balanced budget. Bringing in additional businesses that will generate revenue is not something that can happen overnight. If elected, what would you propose be done to improve the city's financial footing and reduce service cuts while the economy improves?

COUNCIL DISTRICT 2

FREDDIE RODRIGUEZ: I would like to improve the way we do business with the business community and developers by making the process easier, make them feel wanted, work with the Chamber of Commerce to promote Pomona as a destination where business and developers want to come. I would like to create an economic development team to address our city's needs now and for the future. I would make outreach to the business community and look at what other surrounding cities are doing to see how we may be able to implement their successes. I cannot support any reduction in service to our community but look to real solutions to help balance the budget.
