Local Economists Eye Future Under Bush

Summary


The stock market moved upward on the news of President Bush's re- election, but reaction was mixed among local economists as to how it will affect Southern California's economy during the next four years.

Jack Kyser, senior vice president and chief economist for the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp., said he doesn't think the president has "that much of an impact" on issues such as local job growth. Kyser acknowledged, however, that the local economy will likely fare better with Bush in the White House during the next four years.
