On a rainy Saturday night in November 2003, Allen, who hasbeen a firefighter in Burbank for 12 years, realized the dangerinvolved in his job. Allen, along with five other firefighters,responded to a call of "officer down" at the Ramada Inn."When we got there, there were two police officers on theground," Allen, of Rancho Cucamonga, said. "We divided intotwo teams to work on the officers. There were cops in a circlearound us. It was almost like a movie -- everything sloweddown, and then it was done."
