PASADENA -- Ben Green, executive director of the Pasadena Senior Center, has been named the next chief executive officer of the San Gabriel Pomona Valley chapter of the American Red Cross, charity officials announced today.

Green, who began work at the Senior Center in April 2002, emerged as one of two finalists for the post that attracted more than 100 resumes from across the country, according to William A. Hawkins, chairman of the local chapter's board.
