San Bernardino County Supervisor Neil Derry's push to terminate county benefits payments to Superior Court judges was thwarted Tuesday when the Board of Supervisors postponed action on the item one month to get a clearer picture of the issue.

Derry, who represents the 3rd District, asserts that discontinuance of county-funded judicial benefits would save about $1.5 million a year, roughly the equivalent of one year's salary for 23 full-time employees.
