The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will apply for $5.4 million in state funding to purchase and preserve about 450 acres of undeveloped land in the mountains north of La Verne and Claremont.
The board decided Tuesday to seek grant funding from the state Wildlife Conservation Board in order to buy several privately owned properties around the Marshall Canyon County Park.
