Claremont Sixth-Grader's History Essay Tops in District Dar Contest

Summary


Every year, the Claremont chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honors local high school students who compete in an essay competition.

The chapter did so again this year, but it also is pleased to announce that its sixth-grade American history essay competition winner for the entire district is Allen Austin Shyer of Claremont. His essay came out on top of all those that were submitted by the nine chapters of the San Gabriel District. He is a student at Foothill Country Day School in Claremont. His American history teacher is Margaret Lofgren. His essay has been forwarded to state competition.
