When it came to nominating a teacher as Central School District's Teacher of the Year, Coyote Canyon Elementary SchoolPrincipal Melanie Sowa had to face the facts."Katie has always been a teacher who has the children's bestinterest and growth and development at heart," Sowa said. "She putsan enormous amount of time and effort to provide our students with an outstanding education. She represents the best that is in all our teachers."Katie Face, a fourth-grade teacher at Coyote Canyon Elementary Schoolin Rancho Cucamonga, was not only chosen as the 2005 Central SchoolDistrict Teacher of the Year, but was honored as one of three San Bernardino County Teachers of the Year by the San Bernardino CountyBoard of Education Oct. 3.

"Coyote Canyon is very proud because in the last 12 years, fourteachers were named Central School District's Teacher of the Year andof those, three went on to be San Bernardino County Teachers of theYear," Sowa said.
