Former Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening, a national leader in the smart growth movement, will be among the keynote speakers at the Greener Valleys Conference presented by Cal Poly Pomona's College of Environmental Design at the Kellogg West Conference Center on Tuesday.

According to Michael K. Woo, dean of the university's College of Environmental Design, the conference will focus on issues affecting future employment and population trends, infrastructure and planning decisions and sustainable planning and development practices which create a stronger economic base in the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley.
