Budding Authors Prove Age Is No Obstacle to a Well Told Story

What's orange and green and read all over -- a children's book written by budding authors at a family literacy party held in Ontario. More than 40 kids and 20 parents gathered at the Anthony Munoz Community Center for the last literary luau of the school year hosted by students from El Camino Elementary School.

"The focus is always on reading and writing and our goal is to show families a fun way to enjoy literature," explained Heather Brooks, the event coordinator and first grade teacher at El Camino. "This time we are going to teach the kids and their parent's how to write books of their own, it's something they can do together at home."
