SAN BERNARDINO - Looking ahead on the schedule, Cal Poly Pomona women's volleyball coach Rosie Wegrich knew this was going to be her team's toughest weekend.

The Broncos (16-11, 11-6 CCAA), who are currently third in the CCAA and clinging to the No. 8 spot in the West Region rankings, could have used a win over either Friday's opponent UC San Diego, who is ranked No. 1 in the country, or sixth-ranked Cal State San Bernardino, Saturday's foe, to improve their playoff outlook. But Cal Poly lost both matches and now must hope they can hold on to the final playoff spot with one week left to play.
