WASHINGTON - As Americans wrestle to take off those stubborn pounds, anti-obesity legislation in the halls of the U.S. Capitol is piling up like layers of trans fat.

Just this month, lawmakers have introduced seven measures aimed at shrinking Americans' waistlines. Dozens more are expected in the coming weeks on everything from requiring Medicaid to pay for obesity treatments to regulating junk-food advertising targeting kids.
