Mental Health Court Offers Troubled Teens a Second Chance
When it comes to teenagers, a criminal charge and a mental illness shouldn't be a life sentence, experts say. An alternative court, still in its infancy, aims to give troubled teens in the San Bernardino County juvenile system a chance at rehabilitation and redemption, with the ultimate goal of reducing recidivism.

LA VERNE - ''Unconscious Hour: Art by students,'' an exhibit featuring the work of University of La Verne students, will be on display at the university from April 20 to May 4. Father Kills 5-Year-Old Daughter, Shoots Himself
FONTANA - A 40-year-old man shot his 5-year-old daughter Saturday night and then turned the gun on himself. At 8:43 p.m., Fontana police responded to a call of a dead man and child in a home in the 15400 block of American Way, according to the Fontana Police Department.
Diamond Bar's 17th birthday celebration at Pantera Park on Sunday had something for everyone. Man Found Shot, Dead in Planter
CLAREMONT - Claremont police officers responded to the area of Olive and Santa Fe streets about 8:15 a.m. after a woman reported seeing what appeared to be a dead body, said a Claremont police statement. Officers and detectives responded and found a Latino man, about 20-years-old, dead from at least one gunshot wound. He was lying in a dirt planter, the statement said.
